It has been lovely to see so many of you in the Breath Workshops over the past couple of weeks. We have three more sessions with the last one being next Monday 30th November. Those of you who would like to join us and are not already signed up please send me an email and I will forward a link to the Zoom invitation. All are welcome … breathing is free and its power of the breath is astounding. When we change our breath we can change our mood and our central nervous system.

So this week we will learn the Coherent Breath …. This is a steady smooth breathing technique. When our breath is smooth and calm it sends messages to the brain that we are safe and the brain will begin to release the “fight and flight” mode and invite the parasympathetic nervous system into action. This is the “relaxation response” which then spreads through our whole being. Research has shown that practising this breath for 10-20 minutes a day will have a profound effect on your central nervous system …. All that we need is to do it and this is usually the most difficult part …. So we can practice together for the next three sessions and perhaps this could be the start of a new routine which you can take forward into your lives.
